Opinions change

Quite contrary to my original rigid opinions about blogging - I have now decided to make my blog public. Strang for some1 who claims she hates blogging! But I guess its time I upgrade from my traditional habit of writing in my diary. So I guess Visimed shall be frequented even more often now :P

Ramadhaan is HERE!

We I welcome the month of Ramadhaan though its definitely not that exciting here in Bloem! Awareness is growing though, a few of my non-muslim friends wished me "all the best for rama-dan" Cute.
Mufti Menk was speaking last week about preparing for the month of Ramadhaan - how there was so much prep for the soccer world cup. He mentioned that when FIFA said they were selling tickets for 90min matches, people scrambled to make sure there had their expensive tickets, made arrangements for all other committments and even travelled far distances just to see guys running after a ball! Just to be able to say 'I WAS THERE', huh? However when Allah Ta'ala asks of us an extra hour of performing Taraweeh salaah. Moan. Groan. Excuses. No 'I WAS THERE' spirit.
What a pity.

In other news: there has been reports going around about the possible 'Burn a Qur'an Day' or something like it. Apparently, churches are being encouraged to do this on 9/11. How unneccessary! I mean Whatever will they achieve out of this? Allah (SWT) has promised to preserve the Qur'an thus we have innumerable Hufaaz in almost every community! So, Fools: burn however many you wish but you'll never succeed in taking the Qur'an away from our hearts (besides we have electronic versions too;).

Ramadhaan Kareem to all. Please remember the Ummah in your Du'as.(& Pakistan too).

Miracles DO happen!

Yep, miracles are not something of the past and of prophets only! ok, let me explain my excitement:
Yesterday i lost my pencilcase @ Visimed (our computer lab). I went back 2 check for it but there was absolute no sight of it. HORROR! My 2 memory sticks are inside....whatever will i do now? On the way to Visimed i met Oscar( a guy fro my class) so i told him my misery- maybe he can help? so anyway, I came home without my pencilcase, depressed myself 4 being so careless, depressed my mother & sis with all my woes, made fervent dua & then went to sleep. what else can i do?

This morning, as I was walking past Visimed, I decided to go in and check again - maybe just maybe it would be there - perhaps I didn't check well enough. But nothing doing. By chance I happened to meet Oscar @ one of the desks, he asks "Miss *****, still looking for your pencilcase?" I replied in the affirmative and went on to explain how I had hopelessly looked 4 it.... AND then. some random optom dude a row behind asks "Are u looking for a pencilcase?" "I Actually have 1 with me"
*shock* *stare* WHAT?
"Are u sure? Its a silver one?"
"yep, I asked around yesterday but no-one owned up so I took it home"

Allahu Akbar!
